Citizen of the Year Awards 2017

The ‘Citizen of the Year Awards’ presented each Australia Day at the City of Albany Australia Day ceremony are now open, with nominations closing on Tuesday 31 October.

 

This is your opportunity to recognise an individual or community group/event that you feel has made a difference to our community over the past 12 months or who have given outstanding service over a number of years.

 

Nominees are judged based on:

  • ·         Their contribution to the community;
  • ·         Their inspiring qualities as a role model for the community; and
  • ·        Their role in creating an enhancemnet of community life.

 

There are four categories for nominations:

  • ·         Citizen of the Year – a person you believe has delivered outstanding service to his or her community
  • ·         Citizen of the Year (Youth) – a young person aged 25 or less who has delivered outstanding service to his or her community
  • ·         Citizen of the Year (Senior) – an older person aged 65 or older you believe has delivered outstanding service to his or her community
  • · Award for Active Citizenship – a group doing outstanding work, or for an event staged in the community during the past year.
